Another day, another big rock that threatens to send us back to the stone age...

Armageddon sequel...
Save the date in the year 2040--Feb 5 to be exact (how they can tell is anyone's guess). The latest NEO--Near Earth Object, is set to arrive in our "keyhole" sometime in the next 20 or so years and may or may not pass too close to our home. Where is Bruce Willis when we need him!!!! We need some kind of bad boy oil driller to go up into space and nuke the thing from the heavens. If we fail to deflect the thing, we are gonna have a 460 ft wide rock, roughly the size of the pyramid, that's gonna park itself in my backyard and force me to hide in a cave until vegetation starts growing again. Until then I will have to eat other people kinda like the dinos did. I don't wanna live like the dinos if this thing hits us, cause you know, didn't work out too well for them...

"Discovered early last year, 2011 AG5 is still somewhat of a mystery to astronomers, as they have a pretty good idea how big it is but have only been able to observe it for roughly half an orbit. That makes it difficult to project the object's path over time--and to verify whether it may be a threat in 2040. Ideally, researchers would like to observe at least two full orbits before making projections about an NEO’s path, but that hasn’t stopped several in the astronomy from fixing odds on an impact in 2040. Specifically, those odds are currently at 1 in 625 for an impact on Feb. 5, 2040."
